Sons of Korah - singing the scriptures

This video below is one of the Palms sung by the group, Sons of Korah. Their music is beautiful as they worship through the word of God.

I would highly recommend their music in building your worship time and strengthening your wall with God!

'SOMETHING MORE' by Ginny Owens

This CD is filled with an amazing range of songs which constantly encourage and challenge me. This music and specifically the lyrics, lend themselves to the Holy Spirit speaking to you.

Just last week I was spending quiet time with God and was looking through my music trying to find something which would help me enter into a place of worship, and although this is a 'worship' CD it got me talking to God and more importantly listening. It ministered to me and by the end of it I will crying 'on God's shoulder' as He ministered to me thought this music.

The song titled 'I Am' was a song which added to what I had been reading in Exodus and Everyday with Jesus JUL/AUG 2013 'The Great I am' based on the scripture Exodus 20:2. You can buy EDWJ in store or online at koorong

My favourite song is called 'All I Want To Do' as it is a beautiful song which is my heart prayer to God.

I would encourage anyone to take the time to listen to this CD. To find out more information about Ginny Owen and her music, click here

‘So God granted him what he requested’

This evening while doing the dishes I was mulling over everything I have had on my mind lately – everything that I feel consumed by, I was beginning to feel really hopeless, once again.

Pour it out to God – that is the feeling that arose within me. I cannot say that is always my first response, but this evening that is the thought that broke through. It wasn't a ‘holy’ prayer or even a ‘super spiritual’ moment. It was an honest empty sharing of the heaviness I was feeling in my heart. I needed Him. I needed  and asked the Holy Spirit to come to comfort me.

He came.

--

This is like one of the most beautiful verses in the Bible I was reading about in my devotional time this morning by Rev Dr Selwyn Hughes in Every Day with Jesus.

“Now Jabez was more honourable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.” (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)

‘So God granted him what he requested’. This speaks volumes; God hears me and acts in love. He doesn't have to. He has already done so much for me, but He loves and values me so much that even when I'm just not feeling that great … He, the great 'I Am' comes and holds me.

Saviour, you are constantly saving me.
Thank you.

Lead Me to the Cross

Saviour I come, quiet my soul
Remember redemption's hill
Where your blood was spilled
For my ransom

Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Lead me to the cross,
Where your love poured out.
Bring me to my knees
Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself I belong to you,
And lead me, lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I, tempted and trialled
You are, word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
To your heart
